Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni and his teammates had very little time to celebrate their table-topping win at home over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday. The defending champions had to take an early morning flight on Wednesday to Jaipur where they will take on Rajasthan Royals in their seventh Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match on Thursday.
Skipper MS Dhoni, who loves his sleep, seems to have struggled due to the lack of it ahead of Chennai Super Kings' early morning flight to Jaipur from Chennai. Poor over rates during Tuesday's match against KKR hasn't helped either. Despite CSK chasing a 109-run target in 17.2 overs, the match finished well after the scheduled time.
Dhoni took to Instagram to post a photograph of himself and his wife Sakshi taking a nap at the Chennai airport while waiting for their flight. Both of them can be seen using a backpack as a makeshift pillow.
"After getting used to IPL timing this is what happens if u have a morning flight," Dhoni wrote as caption.
CSK had camped in Chennai over the last five days and managed to win two matches during the said period at Chepauk, which has been their fortress over the years. However, Dhoni's men will be on the road for the next 10 days during which they will play four matches.
After the match against former champions Royals in Jaipur, Chennai Super Kings will head to Kolkata on Sunday, April 14 for a stiff test at the Eden Gardens following which they will play Sunrisers Hyderabad in a repeat of last year's final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 17.
CSK also travel to Bengaluru for an away match against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 21 before returning home ahead of their 11th match against SRH on April 23.
Dhoni's men have been brilliant in their title defence so far. Having won four matches on sluggish wickets at home, it will be interesting to see how CSK adapt to different conditions in their upcoming away matches.
Notably, CSK's only defeat in IPL 2019 so far came against former champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Dhoni's men failed to chase a 171-run target as they were restricted to 133 for 8 in their quota of 20 overs last week
